The Testa Company in Akron, OH recently required the use of GPR to locate rebar and post-tension cables in a newly developed apartment building. Several unfinished, upper-level condos were having drains added in various locations. Prior to core-drilling into the concrete, the contractor used GPRS to avoid cutting through any post-tension cables or re-bar. The contractor called us and we were able to mobilize and complete the work on the following business day. We used Ground Penetrating Radar in order to locate the PT cables and re-bar in the concrete. We were able to accurately locate the center of each cable and bar and their depths. We marked the locations of any bars or cables on the concrete allowing the contractor to see if the initial drilling location would be viable, or if it would need to be relocated.
